Prime Minister Padel will be in Madrid in August 2022


Premier Padel, the official global padel circuit, governed by the International Padel Federation (FIP) and supported by the Professional Padel Association (PPA) and Qatar Sports Investments (QSI), is pleased to announce the first “P1” tournament to be held in Europe is organized in the historical padel country: Spain.

the Madrid’s first Padel P1 takes place from 1 to 6 August in the WiZink CENTER, enters the scene in the largest padel market in the world, while the circuit is in full expansion. The annual tournament will be hosted in Madrid under a multi-year contract. Qualifying will take place on July 30 and 31, followed by the main draw.

The Madrid Premier Padel P1 is the second P1, Category 2 tournament to be announced after Argentina’s Premier Padel P1, which was unveiled earlier this year. The Premier Padel is the only circuit that offers official ranking points to players and the P1 tournaments will give the winners 1000 points as well as a prize money record, as with all P1 events.

Few countries can match Spain’s passion for padel. The country has almost 6 million padel participants, more than 11,000 padel courts and more than 1,000 padel clubs spread across Spain. For example, the Madrid Premier Padel P1 will certainly be one of the biggest sporting events on the Spanish calendar. The Premier Padel will host at least ten (10) new tournaments in 2022 – including four “major” Category 1 events. The first major – the Ooredoo Qatar Premier Padel Major – took place in Doha in March. The second, the First Padel Major of Italy at the Foro Italico that ended two weeks ago. The other category 1 tournaments are the Paris Premier Padel Major at Roland-Garros Stadium which runs from 11 to 17 July, and the Mexico’s first padel major at Club Sonoma in Monterrey, Mexico from November 28 to December 4. l’Argentine Premier Padel P1 takes place from 8 to 14 August. Other tournaments will be announced very, very soon.

Madrid’s first Padel P1 broadcasts

Luigi Carraro, President of the International Padel Federation, said : “We are very proud to bring Premier Padel to Spain – a historic padel country whose love and passion for the sport is no secret. We know that many Spanish padel fans will support the P1 tournament. Just two weeks ago, we had a record number of visitors at the Foro Italico in Rome, and I’m sure we will create a unique atmosphere at the WiZink Center in August as well.”

The Board of Directors of the Professional Padel Association (PPA) added: “This agreement opens an exciting new chapter for padel in the most popular country in our sport. The PPA is delighted to be shaping the future of the sport as part of the Premier Padel Tour with the help of the players who will be placed at the heart of the sport’s development for the very first time. The PPA is looking forward to the first P1 event in Europe and we are confident that the WiZink Center in Madrid will be a worthy venue for the occasion. This event will be spectacular for players, supporters and all padel enthusiasts.”

The “Madrid Premier Padel P1” will be broadcast worldwide on channels such as ESPN (South America, Central America, Mexico and the Caribbean)air sports (Italy, United Kingdom, Ireland, Germany, Austria, Switzerland)being into sports (MENA, Southeast Asia, Australia, New Zealand, France, Turkey)viaplay (Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Finland, Iceland, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland and the Netherlands)SuperSport (Sub-Saharan Africa), Charlton TV (Israel), arena (Czech Republic and Slovakia), cosmote (Greece) and many more will be announced in due course.
