Orne U15 Cup Women

This Sunday the final of the Orne Cup for women took place in Domfront. In the morning, six U15 women’s teams competed on the beautiful lawn of Domfront. Les Aiglonnes, coached by Laila Afif and Franck Pezot, played five intense matches.

The first game against the American Alençon is difficult. The Aiglonnes are still 0-0, winning on penalties. They then recorded victories over La Ferrière (4-1), Athis (2-1) and Magny-le-Désert (3-1).

At 3:30 p.m., before their final game, the yellow and blue met FC Argentan for what can be compared to a final. The Aiglonnes, irresistible this Sunday, dominate their opponents. They win the match 3-1 and win the title of Orne champion.

Laila Afif says she is “very proud of the girls who have produced a beautiful game, with a beautiful spirit and above all a deep respect for the group and management. They are attentive and on top. Congratulations to the Aiglonnes and congratulations to Laila and Franck for this great work with the women this year.

Orne Cup U15, Quarter Finals: FCPA – US Mortagne 2-2 (penalties 4-3)

This Saturday afternoon, the U15s hosted US Mortagne for the quarter-finals of the Orne Cup and with the honor of playing on the legendary grass pitch of the Foisy stadium. The Aiglons start the game timidly and the Mortagnais immediately take advantage by scoring the first goal of the game. This goal conceded Hugo Martin’s partners and it was on a very long shot from Anthony that the Aiglons equalized in the 15′. A goal that is strangely reminiscent of that of his coach, Adrien Bunel, during R2’s promotion game a few weeks ago. This equalizer was deserved but the game of the Aiglons deteriorates due to poor choice of passes or incomprehension and finally Mortagne scores a second goal just before half time.

After some adjustments by the coaches and a change of equipment at half time, the Aiglons started with a bang and immediately made a great attack from twenty meters in the second half via Lukas Colombel. The second period was a real treat for the Aiglons who put down the game, won the duels and were combative in the best sense of the word. Yellow and blue create many opportunities, but fail to realize them. Mortagne has a few chances on the counterattack, but Alexis Vazeux and the Aiglon defense were unmanageable in this second half. A final pass from Lukas Colombel to captain Thomas Piffret’s head deserved a better fate, but the referee whistled the end of the game with this score of 2-2.

The penalties favor the Aiglons, despite a shot blocked off the post, it is a great Alexis Vazeux who stops two mortagnais attempts and allows his teammates to advance to the semi-finals. A big congratulations to all the players for this great game, a big thank you to Eric Bienvenu for the referee on the sidelines and to everyone present today. Happy birthday Thomas Piffret and congratulations to Alexis for these two penalties.

U18, R2: FCPA – FC Evreux 1-6

In this final game and just like the season, Mehdi Afif and Loïc Buisson’s men put in a good performance against FC Evreux’s U18s, who are the best in training at the regional level. Brave and determined Aiglons who made it difficult especially in the first half for R2’s second, who came to Foisy with a great team. Two of them played against PSG on the same pitch a few weeks ago. But courage and self-denial were not enough. After a start in favor of Evreux, Maxence Marie equalized from the penalty spot. The Aiglons then had good opportunities, notably via Noah Goncalves, who was very restless on his left, but the visitors took the lead before half time, confirming their superiority in play and percussion.

The second period is unbalanced, the Ebroïciens add four new goals. The U18s finish their R2 Championship with an honorable record (six wins, seven draws and twelve losses) and most importantly they have never failed or given up. All players have progressed against great teams and big regional clubs. Congratulations on your journey.
