69 digital education solutions and 34 digital companies selected by the state for teachers and students in digital education areas (TNE)

From the beginning of the next school year, these solutions will be made available free of charge to teachers and their students in the 12 divisions of the Educational Digital Territories (TNE). They will be the subject of training to support teachers in their pedagogical use.

The selected solutions will be presented at an event “Digital Education and EdTech: collaborating and innovating for the success of all”, which will take place on June 27 at the General Secretariat for Investment (SGPI) in the presence of the winning companies and the press. .

Acceleration and training in the use of digital education at the heart of TNE

The TNE action is funded by the SGPI as part of the France 2030 Education and Digital Acceleration Strategy, and is supported by the Ministry of National Education and Youth. It is operated by the Banque des Territoires with partner communities, academies, the Project Kit and Canopé Network. Launched in 2020, it is now deployed in 12 departments: Aisne, Val-d’Oise, Bouches-du-Rhône, Cher, Corse-du-Sud, Doubs, Finistère, Guadeloupe, Hérault, Isère, Vienne and Vosges.

This national investment of 200 million euros in total makes it possible to test a global policy for accelerating education in and through digital technology on a large scale, which is able to respond to the need for education continuity. It should also make it possible to fight the digital divide and educational inequalities. For this, four levers are mobilized simultaneously:

  • equipment in schools;
  • Innovative digital education solutions for students and teachers;
  • Training for teachers based on their locally assessed needs;
  • E-parenting support for parents furthest from digital technology.

A market on an unprecedented scale

The management of this 25 million euro market, published in September 2021, was entrusted to Réseau Canopé, a ministry operator whose mission is to train teachers throughout their careers. From the start of the 2022-2023 school year, Réseau Canopé will make the winning educational solutions available free of charge. This provision is in line with the already existing training actions, online and face-to-face, in its network of third places, the Ateliers Canopé, for the benefit of teachers, from kindergarten to secondary school.

A real opportunity for EdTechs and companies in the education sector, this market addresses the need for labeling and official recognition of high-quality digital resources in an increasingly competitive sector where it is sometimes difficult for teachers to orientate themselves. † Simultaneous training in these resources guarantees their use.

A collegiate performance

No fewer than 108 files were received by Réseau Canopé of the 10 lots offered. The entire assessment phase was carried out with the support of the General Secretariat for Investments (SGPI), the Caisse des Dépôts et Consignations (CDC), the General Directorate for School Education (DGESCO) and the Department of Digital for Education (DNE). The files were analyzed according to advanced educational, ergonomic, technical and financial criteria. Subsequently, a decisive advisory committee was convened on March 23, 2022 to conclude the allocation phase.

It was chaired by Réseau Canopé and consisted of 9 members of the education community (trainers, teachers, executives) and 11 representatives of the National General Education Inspectorate, DGESCO, DNE, academic digital delegates, heads of institutions, etc. of research. 69 solutions proposed by 34 publishers and EdTech were selected for their relevance and their suitability for the identified needs of teachers.

Discover the winning digital solutions

A new operational phase now begins. On the website https://tne.reseau-canope.fr/, first and second grade teachers from the 12 departments can discover, train and use the available solutions in their daily work in the classroom.

The approved education solutions and the planned training systems will be presented on June 27 at the SGPI during an event dedicated to supporting the EdTech sector in the framework of France 2030, for more efficient education. It will take place in the presence of companies and EdTech winners from the Resources and Education Challenges market, or those involved in the Educapital 2 fund, as well as with users and beneficiaries of these schemes. A press conference will be organized on this occasion. This year’s themes are: Ethics and digital sobriety!
