Joel Armia and Finland eliminate Sean Farrell and the United States at the World Championship

The semifinals of the World Hockey Championships take place in Finland today with two games on the program.

In the first semi-final, which took place this morning, the United States faced Finland in a match that turned out to be very promising.

Well, it was indeed a nice game that ended in a 4-3 victory for the host country.

Finland thus reached the final of the world championship for the third time in a row.

Enough to make the Finnish supporters very happy.

Finland could become the first country since Sweden in 2006 to win Olympic gold and world championship gold in the same year.

In the win, Montreal Canadiens forward Joel Armia once again shook the ropes with his 4th of the tournament.

This brilliant shot gave Finland a 4-2 lead in the match. USA narrowed that lead to just one goal in the closing minutes and gave Joel Armia credit for the winning goal.

The Finnish striker now has seven points (four goals and three assists) in nine games since the start of the tournament.

In the United States camp, another Montreal Canadiens player, this time a young prospect, pulled the needle.

Sean Farrell did indeed score a beautiful goal (to Cole Caufield if you allow me the phrase) to level the game at two everywhere.

Farrell closes the tournament with six points (two goals and four assists) in nine games.

It is therefore a second international tournament where Farrell stands out and performs well.

It will be very interesting to see the rest of the stuff in his case as it relates to his future with the Montreal Canadiens. He could very well earn a place in CH’s alignment one day, if the latter manages to get him under contract, of course.

In short, Finland is currently waiting for its opponent, while the other semi-final between Canada and the Czech Republic takes place at 11:20 AM.
