Audrey-Louise looks back on her career at Star Académie

To the surprise of many who already saw her in the final, Audrey-Louise Beauséjour had to say goodbye this Sunday, while Éloi Cummings was saved by the public and Krystel Mongeau by the teachers. However, the young mother of 23 is not done impressing the public yet.

Audrey-Louise, how did you feel when you heard you weren’t going back to Waterloo?
It was a disappointment for many reasons, but the main one, which may seem trivial, is that I have to leave my friends. That’s really what hurts me the most. I miss them already. And my new friendships are not limited to the academics, but to the whole team at Star Academy† I can’t wait to see them again, to have a drink with them; I will soon do the same with those who have left. The best part of the adventure for me is really these encounters.

Is it a bit of a surprise on your journey, these new friendships?
I knew that projects like these brought people together; I kind of expected that. I was still amazed at how attached I became to others and how strong the bonds are! I will remember this experience all my life. I am convinced that, when we can, we will all meet again happily! Until then, I wish everyone who remains at the Academy the best of luck!

What was your interpretation of? Love still exists
I felt good and present on stage. For a moment I had the feeling that my heart was wide open to the public.

What does this song evoke in you?
She always spoke a lot. It’s also one of the first songs I played on TV, The Court of the Great with Gregory Charles! It was he who presented this piece to me, the meaning of which I did not fully understand at the time, but which touches me deeply today. It’s a piece that feels good and if I could make someone feel good on Sunday, I was doing my job.

The good news in all of this is that you can find your little Adèle…
Yes. if i left Star Academyis that there was a reason, there must be something else waiting for me outside, which also makes me move forward. Star Academy, it’s a great springboard, it’s a great sight, it’s the beginning of something, but it’s not the end. I can’t wait to see what the future holds for me, and thanks to my release, I can finally find my daughter.

How did you experience your daughter’s divorce during your time in Waterloo?
It was difficult, but I knew Adele was in good company. I was able to reassure myself and work knowing that. But now I can’t wait to take full advantage of the time with her!

Was it comforting to be able to trade with Krystel, who is also a mother?
Oh yes, because Krystel is an amazing wife, mother and singer! She is now a good friend. I am very happy for her that the teachers chose her on Sunday.

You already have a lot of experience as an artist. What important lessons did you take at the Academy?
I learned that my instincts were right and that I had to keep trusting myself and really let go.

Which artist during Variétés has impressed you the most?
This is Marie Denise Pelletier. I know her personally because we participated in the musical Familiar together in 2018. She is an amazing woman, with an immense talent that I admire immensely. I helped her for a number of months and she remains an example for me to follow vocally, but also humanly. She is the one who impressed me the most and she will always impress me!

What do you want to say to the people who have followed your adventure?
I want to thank them for their support. Stopping halfway is no end for me, I stay true to the pole and keep singing for them.

What are your plans?
I have a few compositions to my name. I don’t know yet in what form they will be released, an album or an EP. I am also a big fan of musicals. So if I get the chance to join one of them, I’m sure I’ll get on board! I’m a girl who carbides with projects, I need them because they make me vibrate. The more I have to do, the more I want to do.
