It was a “nice football party” for everyone, Sunday 22 May 2022, even if the organizing club, the Nozay Omnisport football (NOS), would have liked a happier outcome for him. In the Derby who opposed his very near neighbor, the Football Club Abbaretz-Saffré (ASFC) in this last day division championship 2it was the last to win by 2 goals to 1, while also providing the climb to the next level next season.

Nozay sad about the result but happy with the party

If she admits that she is “pained by the result” for the players of Nozay (Loire-Atlantique), “for the supporters and also for the volunteers”, the Chairman NOS Football Angélique Doucet instead, enjoy the full success of this event.

It’s hard to know exactly, but there were between 700 and 1000 people for this match. The stands were packed. We really wanted to welcome the other team and that everything went well and it did. It’s been a nice day.

A thirty volunteers allowed the match, as well as the post-match, to take place in the best conditions.

So despite the understandable disappointment of the Nozéens at the end of a match whose score remained favorable until the 89and minute, the atmosphere remained good-humoured.

The suspense till the end

The chairman summarized the course of the game: “Nozay opened the score and it was 1-0 at half-time. Thereafter, CBSA gets a penalty once the locker room came back and equalized. A draw was enough for us to stay in first place in the group and definitely go through to D1, but at the very end of the match Abbaretz-Saffré scored a second goal…”.

“They had the merit of believing in it to the end,” for his part underlines the Nozéen coach Mickaël Humeau, about the opponent. “We both had our rest, but in the second, after the penalty kick, the psychological dominance changed and we also fell physically,” he analyzes.

It’s a cruel result, but the game was played in a good atmosphere and despite everything it was a big party for both teams.

There is still hope for Nozay

The coach also emphasizes the “youth” of his group compared to a more mature and “more athletic” CBSA team. He also notes that, despite the penalty (which can always give rise to discussion), the match benefited from a “very good referee”.

Yet all is not completely lost for NOS Voetbal: Fingers crossed to be second best of all groups and win our climb. And administratively you never know what can happen (in the low season, note from the editors)”, Mickaël Humeau indicates.

On the visitors’ side, there was clearly total euphoria at the end of the game.

“We played for a lot of people. Congratulations to the Nozay club for the management of the organization. They won on this ground,” ASFC coach Alban Berthelot said the day after this victory.

This win is dedicated to our chairman, Yoann Collet, who will retire at the end of the season after 6 years of good and loyal service. Thanks to the many CBSA supporters. Our club is very young. Events like this build momentum.

Alban Berthelot, ASFC coach

Despite the disappointment of some sportingly speaking, the joy of having had such an experience, with such an audience, was on everyone’s mind Sunday afternoon. And everyone hopes to experience such moments again next season.
