Who, from Servette, Grasshopper, Sion and Lucerne, will inherit the unenviable 9th place, synonymous with participation in the promotion-relegation barrage? The experts at matin.ch got wet.

The final two days of the championship will be hot for Sion (Loris Benito and goalkeeper Kevin Fickentscher) and Lucerne (Marco Burch, in blue).

Who, from Servette, Grasshopper, Sion and Lucerne, will inherit the unenviable 9th place and play-off in the Super League? Two days before the end of the championship, depending on the circumstances and events, each of these four clubs is still under threat.

Servette (6th with 42 points in total) still has a comfortable stack compared to Grasshopper (7th with 37 points), Sion (8th with 37 points) and especially Lucerne (9th with 36 points).

The specialists of matin.ch have chosen to get wet and enjoy the little game of predictions for these last two days. As it turns out, three of them see the current Lucerne barrage in place, two condemn Sion, and only one sinks Grasshopper. And you, what’s your opinion?

André Boschetti: “Zion will condemn Lucerne”

Sion is saved thanks to a goal in the closing minutes of the last game against Servette and will condemn Lucerne to the dam due to a lower goal difference compared to the standings. But Mario Frick will this time manage to get the maintenance against Winterthur, who, despite the support of their 9,000 supporters, will not be able to make up for their two goals from the first leg. As in Wallis, the good news comes in two, despite FC Sion’s maintenance, Christian Constantin announces that he is going to say goodbye to Paolo Tramezzani.

My predictions:

Today: Napkin – Basel 1-1. Lausanne-Sion 1-1. Grasshopper – St. Gallen 2-1. Lucerne – Young Boys 2-1.

Sunday: Zion – Napkin 1-0. Zurich – Lucerne 2-2. Young Boys – Grasshopper 3-1.

My final ranking: 6. Napkin. 7. Zion. 8. Grasshopper. 9. Lucerne (mother).

Robin Carrel: ‘Grasshopper will not escape’

Since the start of the season I don’t understand how this standings team can work. It took a while, but the lack of cohesion and “living together” in this group will prove too much. As for LS, if you don’t identify with a club that is just one step in a professional course, you will be paid for it in hot moments. And it will be warm at the end of the season as well as in the playoffs. I see and hope for a direct promotion of Aarau and Winterthur through the play-offs. The average SFL viewer would appreciate it and so would I.

My predictions:

Today: Napkin – Basel 1-1. Lausanne-Sion 0-3. Grasshopper – St. Gallen 2-2. Lucerne – Young Boys 3-1.

Sunday: Zion – Napkin 0-1. Zurich – Lucerne 2-2. Young Boys – Grasshopper 4-0.

My final ranking: 6. Napkin. 7. Lucerne. 8. Zion. 9. Grasshopper (dam).

Nicolas Jacquier: “Zurich will save Sion”

We will have to wait until the last day to lift the last unknown of the championship. In this remote thriller, the convict’s name won’t be the one who inherits the roadblocker’s place on Thursday night. Beaten at La Tuilière, Sion will find his salvation by winning the Rhone derby, against a Servette who was on holiday at the time. To escape the worst, the Walliser club can count on a strong ally in the person of FC Zurich. Before taking his trophy, the 2021-2022 champion will refrain from being an annoying quack in front of his audience. This is all the happiness of FC Sion. That’s the theory anyway. Because in reality…

My predictions:

Today: Napkin – Basel 1-1. Lausanne – Sion 1-0. Grasshopper – St. Gallen 2-0. Lucerne – Young Boys 3-2.

Sunday: Zion – Napkin 2-1. Zurich – Lucerne 2-0. Young Boys – Grasshopper 1-1.

My final ranking: 6. Napkin. 7. Grasshopper. 8. Zion. 9. Lucerne (mother).

Valentin Schnorhk: “Lucerne launched too well”

Lucerne is too well launched to stop there. The game plan is clear and so well mastered that he can’t crack directly into the house. Even against top teams, who already know where they will end the season. It is Zion who will pay the price, even though he will lose no more. The lack of offensive ideas will eventually harm him, to the point that he must grapple with a barrage of all dangers.

My predictions:

Today: Napkin – Basel 1-1. Lausanne-Sion 1-1. Grasshopper – St. Gallen 2-1. Lucerne – Young Boys 2-0.

Sunday: Zion – Napkin 0-0. Zurich – Lucerne 1-2. Young Boys – Grasshopper 2-0.

My final ranking: 6. Napkin. 7. Lucerne. 8. Grasshopper. 9. Zion (mother).

Renaud Tschoumy: ‘Sion will shiver to the end’

Unable to beat Lausanne at La Tuilière on Thursday night, and to win at Servette’s Tourbillon on Sunday, Sion will have trembling until the last minute of the championship. The chance for the Walliser club is that Lucerne will fail to collect three points. After a home draw against the Young Boys, the Lucerne sinks in Letzigrund, where FC Zurich, crowned champions for the first time since 2009, will make a point of offering their supporters an overall win. Mario Frick’s team will therefore be sentenced to go through the play-off box.

My predictions:

Today: Napkin – Basel 1-3. Lausanne-Sion 1-1. Grasshopper – St. Gallen 2-0. Lucerne – Young Boys 1-1.

Sunday: Zion – Napkin 0-0. Zurich – Lucerne 4-1. Young Boys – Grasshopper 2-0.

My final ranking: 6. Napkin. 7. Grasshopper. 8. Zion. 9. Lucerne (mother).

Florian Vaney: “Sion in the hostile atmosphere of Winterthur”

The playoffs experience will be different. Far from the Stockhorn Arena in Thun, the 100 spectators and the victory (4-1) that allowed Sion to easily save his place in the elite last year. The Valais have experienced this special moment, but this time it’s a matter of experiencing it on the outward journey in the hostile atmosphere of the Schützenwiese in Winterthur (we take the lead, but we also know that for sure). This is the penalty for deeming Thursday’s victory in Lausanne sufficient. In Lucerne, Mario Frick is a hero.

My predictions:

Today: Napkin – Basel 0-1. Lausanne – Zion 1-2. Grasshopper – St. Gallen 3-1. Lucerne – Young Boys 1-1.

Sunday: Zion – Napkin 1-2. Zurich – Lucerne 0-1. Young Boys – Grasshopper 3-1.

My final ranking: 6. Napkin. 7. Grasshopper. 8. Lucerne. 9. Zion (mother).
